Capital The New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology (NJCST) is dedicated to the enhancement of New Jersey's academic research capacity; the transfer of technologies from the laboratory to the marketplace; the encouragement of technology business development and the support of a technology literate workforce. The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) is in the business of helping businesses grow in New Jersey. Their mission is to make it easier and cheaper for businesses and not-for-profit agencies to get the capital they need to invest and expand in New Jersey. Networking Venture Association New Jersey (VANJ) is a virtual community built by technology businesses for technology businesses. It's a place where firms can exchange information and build partnerships as well as a resource from which technology companies can access the benefits of New Jersey’s high-tech landscape. The New Jersey Entrepreneurs Forum (NJEF) is the premier meeting place for entrepreneurs, investors and service providers in the state of New Jersey. The New Jersey Entrepreneurial Network (NJEN) is a non-profit organization providing educational and informational services to entrepreneurs, investors, service providers and the general public. Business Assistance The NJ Small Business Development Centers (NJSBDC) will provide entrepreneurs with practical information, skills and strategies that make measurable, positive impact on the performance of their businesses and by extension, on the communities in which they work. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), established in 1953, provides financial, technical and management assistance to help Americans start, run, and grow their businesses. With a portfolio of business loans, loan guarantees and disaster loans worth more than $45 billion, in addition to a venture capital portfolio of $13 billion, SBA is the nation's largest single financial backer of small businesses. Last year, the SBA offered management and technical assistance to more than one million small business owners. The SBA also plays a major role in the government's disaster relief efforts by making low-interest recovery loans to both homeowners and businesses. The Service Corps Of Retired Executives Association (SCORE) is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
